Background: Gemma is hugely smart, but has chosen to use that intelligence in subversive activity.  She has always had a strong interest in computers, and at an early age was writing her own applications.  She was sent to the Institute after getting really annoyed at computer giant Macrosift and attacking them with numerous viruses, worms, trojans and distributed denial of service attacks, eventually leading to her arrest by the North American Federation Bureau of Investigation and her placement at the Harvey Institute.
