Personality: Does not get along well with peer group in general, but has a special hatred of the other boys. Highly unstable, aggressive and belligerent despite his lack of height and poor body tone. However, he does react better to girls, and treats them with a certain amount of respect and friendliness. He has a mild case of schizophrenia leading to infrequent psychotic and paranoiac episodes, but this is generally well-controlled with risperidone (an atypical antipsychotic drug).

Background: Sylvain was born and raised in Saint-Dizier, in central-northern
France, along with his two sisters Ghislaine and Juliette. He had a fairly normal
upbringing with no major family disorders. However when he turned 12 his parents
began to notice worrying changes in his behaviour: he became antisocial, isolated,
plagued with suicidal thoughts
and committed petty crimes such as shoplifting due to acute kleptomania. On
investigation, L’Hôpital Psychiatrique de Saint-Dizier diagnosed
that Sylvain was in fact suffering from an early form of schizophrenia, prescribed
him risperidone, and informed the Regime medical authorities as per standard
protocol. As his behaviour and condition deteriorated, the local State officials
took the decision to have him transferred to the Harvey Institute, as it is
a secure facility and he could continue his studies in a corrective atmosphere.
